Request your JJL thesis online!

Readers can now submit their James Joyce Library (JJL) theses requests online. Simply access the Theses Collection page and select the "Request a JJL thesis" option which appears at the top of the page. Links to this form are also available from a number of other relevant pages. Use the blog comment field below to suggest other pages we should link from. The launch of this form means that it is no longer necessary to call into the JJL to submit a theses request. Theses are normally available for consultation the following day (mon-thurs) at the Level 1 Information Desk. A good tip to remember, before completing the online form to consult the Library's catalogue to obtain full thesis details.

UCD Library - Instant Messaging

May 2007 is already (with a few days to go) our busiest month for Instant Messaging (IM) at the level 1 desk in the James Joyce Library since we started IM in 2006. We have had 34 IMs so far this month alone (just beating November 2006 and March 2007). We have already had more IMs in the first few months of 2007 than we did in all of 2006. Thanks to all in Reader Services for their involvement in our IM pilot. Please remember that if you want to contact us using IM from a PC that does not have the MSN client installed and/or does not permit downloads you can use MSN's webmessenger service. For information about IM in UCD please click here.

Did you know that you can ask Library staff questions online 6 days a week for up to 9 hours a day? The UCD Library Reader Services pilot chat service enables windows messenger users to contact the Library online. For more information and details about the service click here. I will be speaking about this pilot at the forthcoming LIR seminar in TCD later this month.
